Job Description

In the role of a Quality Manager at our Sheffield site you will be responsible for the overall management of the quality control systems and control of our site manufacturing batches. Our Sheffield site is one of our largest sites producing Valspar and Ronseal paints in addition to sealant products. This position is ideal for someone with experience of in a similar role within a manufacturing site including exposure to ISO9001, supervisory experience of leading and developing a team and relevant technical experience. Responsibilities

  • Overall Management of Quality Control systems and Quality control of Site manufactured batches
  • Supervising of staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance
  • Preparation and compilation of Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Conformity, for all products
  • Maintenance of the electronic Quality Control Record Management System in accordance with agreed procedures and requirements and in line with ISO9001/ ISO14001
  • Prepare and take ownership of the Site Quality Plan, in association the Regional and Corporate Quality requirements.
  • Report Quality Statistics , including total batches, OTMIS, distressed batches and product quality complaints.
  • Work with colleagues to drive improvement in OTMIS and reduction in Distressed Batches, by working with the various Operations Departments.
  • Review product quality complaints and out of specification approvals for Manufacturing and Finished Products. Coordinate investigation of these items as necessary.
  • Ensure the site continues to be compliant with SW Quest Quality Standards.
  • Take ownership of the audit schedules and driving actions from those audits to maintain the company standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Chemistry or equivalent education
  • ISO9001 experience essential with experience of leading audits
  • Experience managing a team with strong leadership skills
  • Experience of new product testing
  • CI experience and training on LEAN
  • Experience of microbiology, testing and analysis
  • Experience of complaints handling, cause and investigation
  • Ability to define and present metrics and business data / performance metrics
  • Experience applying comprehensive quality management principles and practice and developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures;
  • Cross functional project experience
  • Experience of paint manufacturing an advantage
