The Role

This is a newly created role and an excellent opportunity for someone to really make the role their own and to create their own path of progression.

It is a senior level role where you will become the subject matter expert and as well as managing the KYC and AML process for the transactions, you will also provide training, delegate tasks to and supervise the trainees and junior lawyers. Day to day duties will include:

  • Coordinating the KYC process on borrower/sponsor-side transactions
  • Obtaining KYC requirements from lenders on each transaction where we are acting for the borrower / sponsor.
  • Analysing these lender KYC requirements to understand exactly what is required (and negotiating against / pushing back on unnecessary / unreasonable requests).
  • Obtaining KYC materials/information from the borrower/sponsor to satisfy lender requirements (and assisting the borrower / sponsor with the production of KYC letters / structure charts and other KYC materials, where required).

Person Specification

As this is a newly created role and one not seen often in law firms they are open to the background and experience of the candidate.

Ideally you will have experience in a KYC/AML role in an investment bank, credit/private fund or in a KYC role at a law firm in a client facing capacity. You will also have experience with the compliance and regulatory requirements in the context of borrowers backed by private equity sponsors.

As this is a senior level role, you will ideally have 4 years plus experience, however if you feel you fit the experience and have less than this please do apply.
