Experienced Staff Nurses (Band 5 & Band 6) -Possum Ward (Neurology)

Possum ward is a brand new 8 bedded neurosciences unit. The unit specialises in the management of children 0-16 years of age with a wide variety of neurological conditions including stroke and complex epilepsy. We are looking for a team of enthusiastic nurses to work alongside our sisters in the establishment and development of this exciting new unit.

  • NMC Registered Nurse (appropriate to clinical speciality)
  • Relevant nursing qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies

Desirable

  • Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of having worked with acute/chronically sick children or specialised transferable skills
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
  • Understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures
  • Understating or evidence of fulfilling requirements for Revalidation
  • Understanding of principles of clinical governance (e.g. risk management, audit, quality)
  • Experience of working as part of a diverse team.

Desirable
