It is a really exciting time to be joining our Port Health Team as we transform our services in response to the UK’s departure from the European Union. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Port Health Team as a Technical Specialist.
Our mission is the protection of public and animal health, carrying out a range of checks to ensure imported goods are safe for all of us in the UK. Your responsibilities will include providing legislative advice, completing technical audits, designing policies and procedures, training and ensuring the Port Health Authority is looking for ways to continuously improve in addition to legislative requirements.
* A Shift Allowance equivalent to 7% of your base salary will be paid to recognise that you work over the range of the opening hours of the Port Health facility (currently 0700-1900 hours).
Although this post is a career banded 7 – 9 role, you will be appointed at Band 9 between SCP 38/42.
Ideally you would have significant experience of import controls on Products of Animal Origin (POAO).
