Reporting to one of our Area andDevelopment Managers, Libraries DevelopmentOfficers are pivotal in achieving our ambitions, responsible across the city forthe effective delivery of projects and the provision of library resourceswithin key workstreams.
Enabling all children and young people to learnand reach their potential is a central priority for the libraries service andthe city. In this role you would focus your attention on the early yearssupporting children under 5 years old and their parents and carers. Weare looking for someone who is passionate about the role libraries can play inchildren’s lives and the impact that sharing books and developing a love ofstories in the early years can have on a child’s future.
As a senior member of staff you will be expected to have theknowledge and skills to support other areas of the service and to be a visiblepresence in libraries, providing customer-facing cover when required. You should have excellent communicationand organisational skills, be reliable, flexible, agile and resilient, andabove all be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding and enthusiasm forpublic libraries and their unique place in the lives of individuals andcommunities.
