By joining McCloy Consulting you will be linking up with an established team, working alongside highly experienced team of engineers and technicians to deliver high quality design solutions. We undertake lots of exciting project work including design of environmental improvement schemes, SuDS as part of the landscape and nature based solutions.
The role
We are seeking applications to fill the role of Project Civil Engineer and welcome applications from engineers with a minimum of 3-4 years experience in design of drainage and site infrastructure.
The position is permanent and full time. The role will have the benefit of a hybrid working model and can be based either out of our head office in Mossley Mill (Belfast) or our office in the Waterside in Derry. Both offices offer well appointed spacious working conditions with easy access by public transport.

The candidate:
The successful individual(s) will have:
Essential Criteria
A BEng / BSc degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 3-4 years experience in a Civil Engineering consultancy.
Experience of preparing engineering reports, drawings and figures to a high standard.
Excellent verbal, technical report writing and presentation skills.
Excellent AutoCAD skills.
A commitment to innovate, embrace challenges, and be proven team player with a positive “can do” attitude
Flexibility to work across the UK and Ireland for specific projects when required
Eligibility to live and work in the UK-Ireland Common Travel Area.
Desirable Criteria
Experience in infrastructure design, including highways design and Private Streets Determination, SuDS design, and modelling storm drainage systems (Microdrainage or Causeway Flow).
Experience with site visits and supervision and an understanding of responsibilities with regards to the CDM regulations.
Experience of dealing with UK and Irish water companies in relation to Pre-Development Enquiries, Article 161 applications, Article 154 sewer requisitions and/or experience of liaising with local authorities and environmental agencies in relation to discharge consents.
A higher level (masters) degree in civil or environmental engineering
4 yrs consultancy experience and working towards Chartership.
Experience using CAD packages
