The Role
We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with 1-2 years of experience. You will be working within the Infrastructure team at Walsh on a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include managing design input on civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, and infrastructure on projects ranging from £1M to £300M. This role is based in our vibrant and friendly office in London’s Butlers Wharf.
Responsibilities
You will manage input on multiple projects, ensuring that office and technical standards are followed. Typically, you will work on projects valued up to £50M and lead on infrastructure matters. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work on larger projects exceeding £50M while collaborating with project Associates or Directors. Regular client contact, liaising with other Walsh team members (such as the structures team), external consultants (M&E engineers, Architects), and attending coordination workshops are also part of your responsibilities.
Required Skills
Experience in designing development infrastructure, particularly drainage, is essential. Previous experience in residential projects, especially inner city developments, is preferred. Some management experience is beneficial. A strong technical background in drainage, pavement design, and roads is required. Knowledge of computer packages like XP Microdrainage/Windes and Civils 3D is preferred/essential. Experience with Autodesk Infraworks, Navisworks, NBS Create, BREEAM/CfSH would be advantageous.
Qualifications
Preference is given to candidates with a degree in MEng Civil Engineering suitable for CEng status. However, relevant post-graduate experience will also be considered. Walsh offers an ICE Accredited training scheme to support progress towards Institutional membership.
Salary
£32-37k per annum.
