Your New Company

Galbraith is a leading independent land and property consultancy with offices located across Scotland and Northern England. The Firm specialises in the rural, residential, energy, forestry and commercial sectors with our Building Consultancy team providing advice across all aspects of our clients’ interests.

To support, grow and develop our Building Consultancy team we are seeking a Project Manager . This is a full-time role, based primarily from our Inverness Office. Due to the varied nature of our portfolio of projects and the area we cover, travel to our other offices and sites across Scotland and into Northern England will be required.

Your New Role

As part of a small team, you will have real opportunity to influence the ongoing development of our Project Management offering and to work on a diverse range of projects across all our business sectors. You will report to the Director of Project Management within the Building Consultancy Team. The team has offices in Edinburgh, Stirling, and Inverness. Whilst part of a team, you will generally be required to work alone to successfully manage multiple projects.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of numerous and varied projects simultaneously at different stages of development and work alongside other Galbraith teams in different offices and departments to coordinate the most effective client service. The role will involve selecting, appointing, managing, and motivating geographically diverse Design Teams to successfully deliver the client brief. Key to this delivery will be planning all project phases, sourcing and allocating resources and setting milestones as required to ensure deadlines are met.

To Be Successful

We’re looking for individuals with drive and aptitude to pick up new skills quickly and enjoy identifying and implementing solutions to technical challenges. You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and either a member of a professional body or working towards professional accreditation. You may be an experienced Building Surveyor with project manager experience or alternatively have worked in the project management space for some time and are looking for the next opportunity to further develop your career.

Essential Skills

  • A supplementary skill alongside Project Management to support the wider team and develop new business opportunities. This may be in Building Surveying, a construction-based Engineering Discipline, Renewable Energy, or similar experience.
  • Proven experience in Project Managing construction or other complex projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Ability to engage confidently with colleagues at all levels of seniority across the business and with clients, contractors, and external consultants across a range of sectors.
  • Commercial awareness.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using AutoCAD / Revit.
  • Familiarity with the Scottish Technical Standards and planning process.

What We Offer

We offer a varied and interesting range of project work from small and rapid refit projects to multi-million-pound new builds spanning multiple years. These projects cover both a geographically and technically diverse range from enabling new infrastructure to commercial developments, remote rural properties, city centre offices and historic buildings to renewable power generation at a range of different scales. You will have the opportunity to see projects through from concept to completion. We’ll provide you with access to training and development opportunities to grow as a professional, keep up to date with developments in the wider industry and support towards professional accreditation.

In return, we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, and a benefits package which includes enhanced holidays, company pension, employee assistance programme, enhanced family leave, Perkbox, cycle to work scheme, life insurance, car benefit, annual training budget and employee referral scheme. Alongside this, the role offers the opportunity to work for a growing team in a successful organisation, with the opportunity to access Hybrid Working following an initial period of training. This will be discussed at interview.
