Family Learning Coordinator (Early Years)

Location: Buckinghamshire, County Wide

Our coordinators take a lead on their subjects and work within the Adult Learning team to constantly improve our courses and progression pathways for our learners. Engaging with Buckinghamshire residents, nurseries, playgroups/ settings, other stakeholders and colleagues to benefit and enable parents to have the knowledge and skills to support their own children's development and wellbeing. Also, to support parents' move onto pathways to support their own job opportunities or progression at work.

These hours can be extended through taking on more teaching as part of the role.

Working hours: part time, 30 hours a week

Location: County wide - Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Chesham

About the role

The successful post holder will implement the Service’s Quality Improvement Framework and ensure continuous improvement by carrying out a range of quality improvement activities including observations of teaching, learning and assessment (TLA).

The successful candidate will use their Early Years teaching experience to manage the Early Years Family Literacy Officer team and tutors. Overseeing the development and targets for the Family Learning Early Years provision. Working alongside the Community Learning Manager to ensure appropriate quality standards are being met, including carrying out observations.

The EY coordinator will teach two EY courses per week, to model good practice and use their knowledge of teaching and learning to support and improve the quality of the Family Learning provision.

About you

We would welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Possess substantial knowledge of adult and community learning or school curriculum.
  • Are able to demonstrate understanding of OFSTED and SFA requirements.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of audiences and explain specialist information in a way which a non-specialist can understand.
  • Possess proven ability to build relationships and engage successfully with stakeholder community.
  • Are able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Possess proven initiative and judgement to identify and resolve problems.
  • Have demonstrable experience of development, motivation, and supervision of staff. Proven ability to monitor their performance and if necessary, take corrective action.
