Connected Energy is leading the way in developing battery energy storage solutions. We are one of only a handful of energy storage companies worldwide that have developed the technology to use second-life electric vehicle batteries as an energy store. Our product is changing how businesses manage their energy and we have systems in operation on commercial sites across the UK and Europe.

With several strategic investors, including Engie, Sumitomo, Macquarie, Volvo Energy, Caterpillar Ventures, and Mercuria the company is scaling up our operations fast and developing a new product range on an industrial scale.

Role Overview

This is a newly created role necessitated by the ever-increasing activity here at Connected Energy.

We have started to see some real traction through the scale up phase of the business and need to strengthen the team to ensure the finance function continues to meet the needs of the business.

Main Activities / Responsibilities
  • Lead management accounts and month end close process.
  • Finance business partner to Management Team and Budget holders.
  • Support with investor and board reporting requirements.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the financial management the business.
  • Help ensure everyday finance procedures run smoothly.
  • Support annual external audit.
Person Specification
  • Experience in a similar role within finance.
  • Specific experience in the 2 nd life battery sector is not necessary for this role. The most closely associated sectors where experience might be relevant are, manufacturing, construction/project management, technology or energy.
  • Potentially suitable for someone who is part or recently qualified, ACCA CIMA or ICAEW, or alternatively a similar QBE equivalent.
  • Team and action oriented; proactive in prioritising own workload and assigned areas of responsibility to others
  • Excellent time management and understanding of a monthly reporting cycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
