We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to take up the position of band Occupational Therapist (OT) on Eden Acute Ward Male Acute Inpatient ward at Erdington.


You will be based on Eden Acute Ward, working as a key member of that team where you will develop and deliver occupational therapy (OT) provision to a designated caseload. You will focus on occupational performance, complex mental health presentations, risk management and evaluating outcomes aligned to personalised care plans. You will implement and facilitate individual and group programmes of clinical intervention in collaboration with OT assistants, activity workers and other professionals for effective recovery and discharge.


Whilst you will be based with a specific ward team, as a member of the wider occupational therapy service there may be occasions when flexibility of location is required to accommodate clinical need. Post holders are expected to work shift patterns over a 7-day period. You will be working closely with the Senior Occupational Therapist, band 7 Occupational Therapist, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapy Lead Acute Lead, Matron, and the ward multidisciplinary team.
You will be involved in a variety of professional roles to include supporting the day-to-day decision making on the ward, designated supervision responsibilities, leadership of various individual projects, quality initiatives and service developments that support the trust strategy. You will be expected to be flexible in your approach and welcome the opportunity to build on your existing experience and skills.
