Our client has a unique product and a sustainability mission like few others. With a team of close to 30 visionary scientists, creatives and engineers they are scaling materials solutions to revolutionise industries from fashion to automotive.
 
The role is crucial in supporting our client’s mission of delivering new biomaterial solutions for consumer applications like coated textiles and leather-like materials
The Supply Chain Director will increase the company’s scalability and ability to deliver industrial production of new products by maintaining and developing a network of manufacturing partners and suppliers
The role collaborates with the commercial team to support technology distribution into target markets and the product development team to support new product introductions

Supply Chain Strategy and Execution
~ Develop and execute an effective supply chain strategy that enables the company to industrialise products and scale

Create from scratch, lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

Take on responsibility for building and managing key partner relationships across our client’s supply chain, in particular, with raw materials providers, mixing and packaging partners and the manufacturing companies that provide the end customers with finished products

Oversee procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution

Compliance and Risk Management
~ Ensure that there is a continuity plan in place that will effectively address supply chain issues and also meet the compliance and risk criteria set by luxury goods customers

Manage the supply chain budget and ensure that all SC activities are conducted within budgetary constraints

 
At least 7 years of experience leading international supply chain operations in materials, textiles or chemicals (sector experience is vital)
Experience working in small, agile teams and with technically complex applications (we are looking for ‘a doer’)
Proven track record of developing processes and partnerships for innovative products (we are looking for someone who has built a supply chain from the ground up)
Strong commercial, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills
LOCATION/LOGISTICS
This is a hybrid role. We are looking for the Supply Chain Director to be able to be present in East Anglia 2 days a week minimum to perform the role successfully. You will WFH the remainder of the time.
