We are actively seeking a Design Coordinator to join a leading main contractor in Market Harborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative and impactful construction projects in sectors such as industrial, retail & commercial within the Design Team.
If you are currently a Design Coordinator working for a main contractor and looking for a fresh challenge or an individual with 2-5 years experience in architecture, civil/structural engineering or construction management/site engineering that wants to move into main contracting this could be the role for you.
As Design Coordinator you report to a Senior Design Manager and will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that all designs, plans and documentation are recorded. This will require you to liaise with onsite team members including Project Managers, Architects, Sub Contractors, Engineers and clients to ensure projects are carried out accurately.
Managing the contract specifications, drawings, and related documents
Design co-ordination and reviews via Procore (DMS)
Chairing design team meetings and leading the process with the consultants and subcontract designers

Submitting design information to the client team
Ensuring BREEAM compliance where required on projects in support of (and with) the sustainability team

~ Coordinating the submission of information to ensure all planning conditions are discharged, with support of the Planning Consultant/Lead Designer


~ Supporting with internal design workshops with Operations and Commercial project team to ensure consultants are submitting optimum designs


~ Supporting with the design review workshops with consultant and subcontract design teams to ensure clear understanding of design and technical submissions


Coordinating the submission of information to satisfy Building Control compliance in support of the Building Control Officer

Supporting with managing the design process and issue of information release schedules

Providing input and design reviews into the procurement process
Providing design & technical support to project management teams
