United Kingdom Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust Full time

Hello, my name is Dr Ian Watkiss and I am the lead for the Derbyshire Autism Service in the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Our team is still quite new, but already prides itself on the excellent care we provide, supporting our service users that live in the Derbyshire area.
Over the course of the pandemic, we have realised more than ever how important it is to not only look after our service users, but also ourselves and our colleagues. I am personally devoted to our team's health and welfare and this has never been more essential than over the past few years.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for people to come and be a part of our Specialist Autism Team, where we help those with a potential imminent hospital admission, under the Mental Health Act and help to try and support that work in the community first. To date, we have worked with those who are anxious and struggling with the demands being placed on them in their communities, whilst considering their diagnosis .
Our team is dedicated, compassionate and caring to those who are referred to us and we are now in the position to expand the team and recruit a Senior Clinical Psychologist, to work alongside two Principal Clinical Psychologists, our Assistant Psychologist, the Trainees we support and me. The role involves the development and delivery of a new service to meet the needs of those with Autism within Derbyshire.
The successful candidate will provide therapy and intervention from a psychological model of care. The role involves providing consultation, advice, specialist therapeutic input and research/service evaluation into the service and support other psychologists, trainees and assistants to provide the best service possible.
You will play a key role in the continued development of the service, working closely with community services, multi-agencies, third sector and other key stakeholders, to support individuals who are in crisis or require an intensive community response; ultimately aiming to maintain the adults with autism within their own home setting.
You will work alongside our expert and well established ASD assessment team and the Adult Learning Disabilities Service to make sure that client needs are met.
Join 'Team Derbyshire Healthcare' and become part of a compassionate and enthusiastic workforce committed to making a positive difference to deliver the best possible psychological and mental health care for people in Derbyshire.
You will be joining a Psychological Services Division with a range of expertise and a strong identity at a time of growth. There are opportunities to learn from others and develop your own role in developing a flexible workforce.

Yearly appraisal and commitment to ongoing training
Good maternity, paternity and adoption benefits
Health service discounts and online benefits
