We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our new data technology infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud-based data platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with the Lead Architect and Data Engineer to create a robust and efficient cloud environment that supports our business needs. Write high quality Terraform modules with a primary focus on Azure, but experience with AWS would be beneficial.
Deploy and manage cloud services and resources, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
Implement automation and orchestration techniques to optimize processes, improve quality, and enhance the speed of our platforms and the delivery of our platforms. We primarily use Python in our automation, so good skills here would be beneficial.
Ensure the security and governance of the cloud environment, implementing robust access controls and monitoring mechanisms.
Collaborate with the wider team to build re-usable solutions and avoid wasted time re-inventing the wheel.
Continuously monitor and optimize the cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Strong expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and deployment methodologies.
Familiarity with data management and processing tools (e.g., Solid understanding of networking, security, and data privacy/governance principles in the cloud environment.
