DSP Assistant (Special Needs TA) Salary: £17,833.09 Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Job type: Full Time, Part Time, Permanen Start date: September 2024 Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary schools located in the Corby area of Northamptonshire. As an integral part of their Special Educational Needs department, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to their academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with academic tasks and personal development. Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' progress is monitored effectively. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected. Assist in the preparation of materials and resources tailored to meet the specific needs of SEN students. Promote positive behavior management strategies and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and stimulating classroom environment. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential. A compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine commitment to supporting the learning and well-being of SEN students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with a willingness to participate in training provided by the school. A positive attitude, adaptability, and resilience in the face of challenges.
