Job Description

Under the general guidance and supervision of DOSM and with assistance of Sales Manager C&E implements all sales activities in meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, accomplishes goals & targets set forth in the S&M Plan by DOSM. Work closely with Director of F&B to drive banquet and meetings sales.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To solicit and serve local/international corporate accounts as per assigned portfolio.
  2. To generate and maintain customers of defined accounts/areas through sales activities (face to face sales calls, telephone calls, entertainment).
  3. Initiates sales calls to optimize banquet and meetings revenues.
  4. To be totally familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times.
  5. Maintain up to date understanding of company products and rates and involvement in cross selling of these when required.
  6. Coordinates with the Executive Chef all menu proposals presentations and other kitchen related requirements.
  7. Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of all competing hotel and restaurant products and provide weekly regular updates after visiting competition hotels allocated for tracking purposes.
  8. Provide ongoing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments.
  9. To maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales, telephone, fax, written communications.
  10. To display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and to promote a good company image to guests and colleagues.
  11. To demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the hotel thus identifying a high level of commitment.
  12. Maintains the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, staff and employees.
  13. To attend major events in hotel & city as requested by Department Head.
  14. To closely coordinate and communicate with SM M&E/ DOSM with regards to accounts/markets that are serviced by them.
  15. To ensure comprehensive & complete coverage of own portfolio covering all levels of accounts’ managerial & departmental executives for a comprehensive client servicing, achieving targets and maximum productivity.
  16. To ensure that the response to any business request is actioned within 24 hours.
  17. To promote and produce sales leads for other Accor Hotels outside of coverage area.
  18. To perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely & efficient manner in accordance with established hotel policies to achieve overall objectives.
  19. To ensure that selling strategies are adhered to during negotiations and maximizes up selling opportunities whenever possible.
  20. Closely monitor accounts revenue and business production of own corporate portfolio and of any assigned Sales Executives, to maximize up selling opportunities, to review direct competition and conduct regular research.
  21. To provide feedback to the Director of Sales & Marketing on changing marketing conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone and direct mail, in his/her market areas.
  22. To attend departmental & communication meetings as requested.
  23. To ensure that Accor Hotels Sales & Marketing Policies and Standard Operational Procedures are adhered to at all times.
  24. To disseminate sales related information to other departments as appropriate.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales position, preferably at 4 or 5 star hotel.
  2. Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management / Business Administration.
  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  4. Understands the local culture and has worked in the region.
  5. Good communication skills.
  6. Fluency in other languages is an advantage.
