Overview:
JAB Recruitment is currently looking to source a Project Manager on behalf of our Utilities Client based in Chelmsford.
As a Project Manager, you will be part of the Gas Operations leadership team who are responsible for the delivery of a complex, high value infrastructure programme for Cadent Gas Chelmsford project.
Reporting directly into the Operations delivery manager/ Operations Director, the project manager and their team will ensure the timeous delivery, quality, HSE and ensuring compliance in-line with our clients established specifications and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the integrated project teams to safely deliver the portfolio of projects in line with contracts and frameworks.
- Effectively manage resources to ensure the most cost-effective model is deployed.
- Manage costs throughout the life cycle of each project.
- Support future tenders to ensure longevity of contracts.
- Effective and visible leadership for the programme of works
- Monitor/review and deliver commercial expectations and quality standards.
- Health and Safety champion for the programme of works
- Sustainable reduction in delivery costs to bring the required efficiencies on the programme.
- Ensure alignment with our client’s vision through delivery of the contract. Build/develop and maintain relationship with the client and gas construction senior team.
- Successful delivery of performance management model
- Build skilled and sustainable team to support programme delivery.
- Key contributor to the delivery vehicle strategy to ensure sustainable performance and secure contract extension.
- Effective communicator with the wider programme team
- Ensure suitable supply chain in place to support programme delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience at project management level in a similar environment is essential.
- You will be able to demonstrate your experience of delivering large portfolios of projects, ideally to an annual value of up to £10M.
- Knowledge of the Gas, construction or utilities industry is essential.
- Outstanding leadership qualities required.
- Strong health and safety focus
- A knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering would be useful, though not essential.
