The overall purpose of the Manchester Targeted Lung Health Check Programme (TLHC) is to enable the early detection of lung cancer in order to save lives. Manchester has been identified as an area of high disease prevalence where significant impact can be made from the recognition of early lung cancer & offering curative treatment.

Main duties of the job

As Senior Admin Supervisor, the postholder will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of the screening service. The successful candidate will be pivotal in maintaining the high levels of organisation and efficiency of the admin team with the ability to work within in a dynamic and fast-paced team. The postholder will provide oversight and management to the wider admin team, ensuring that the team is meeting key performance metrics and working to planned time scales. The postholder will be comfortable with delegation and able to escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will require knowledge of various software programmes to create, maintain and manipulate various complex information. This includes collecting and uploading data locally and nationally when required to provide accurate and concise performance data and reports. The role will also entail administrative support for Directorate meetings such as minute taking, paper distribution, managing action plans and oversight of the procurement processes.

They will work both independently and in collaboration with the lung cancer team and cancer pathway team to collect and provide information required to agree a patients treatment plan. They will take responsibility for their own workload but will escalate issues to the lung cancer team as and when appropriate.
