This role gives you the opportunity to lead, manage and develop an innovative service, working to ensure the delivery of the Councils strategies. You’ll be working openly and imaginatively with our partners including the Ipswich Vision Board and those in the private, arts, community, voluntary and government sectors who are committed to helping us realise our vision.



In conjunction with the Council’s Senior Leadership team, you will have the chance to jointly create and own Economic Development Strategies. As a result, your role will be important in ensuring that we maximise our opportunities to secure external funding by building effective partnerships and identifying opportunities for investment that enables economic growth.


It is important that we have strong management and monitoring over our funding programmes to ensure that outcomes are delivered in accordance with objectives and agreement targets, you will have the opportunity to oversee this. You will also have the chance to work on a local, regional and national level to maximise opportunities for investment which enable economic growth and create the conditions to generate inward investment opportunities.



As Britain’s oldest Anglo-Saxon town, we have amazing heritage coupled with great arts and culture. We are an urban borough, home to 140,000 people and just one hour from London, all surrounded by the beautiful Suffolk countryside and coastline. Our Waterfront area, home to the University of Suffolk, the Ipswich Marina and a host of bars, restaurants and leisure facilities, builds on our proud history as a maritime powerhouse. 



This is a role for an experienced Economic Development professional who will bring enthusiasm, positivity and imagination to the role. Sunday 21st April at midnight.
