Lighthouse Games is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Animator to join our team of passionate and creative game developers. As a Senior Technical Animator, you will play a key role in creating immersive and realistic animations for our games. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and programmers to develop and implement animation systems and rigging solutions. Your expertise in character animation and technical proficiency will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of animation quality and realism in our games.

Key Duties Include

  • Mentor a team of Technical Animators, providing guidance, feedback, and support
  • Create and implement animation systems that meet the technical and artistic requirements of the game
  • Develop and maintain animation tools, scripts, and pipelines to improve efficiency and workflow
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to ensure animations are visually appealing and meet gameplay requirements
  • Optimize animations for performance and quality
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animation technology
  • Help drive innovation and improvement in animation processes and techniques

Requirements

  • Experience as a Technical Animator in the games industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Animation, or a related field
  • Expert knowledge of animation software such as Maya, MotionBuilder, and/or 3DS Max
  • Strong understanding of game engines, including Unity and Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or C#
  • Experience with rigging and skinning complex characters
  • Deep understanding of animation principles and techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
