Bouygues Energies & Services are seeking to appoint a Procurement Officer, to join the Procurement team based in Manchester on a fixed term, maternity leave cover. Working as part of a small team, the Procurement Officer will provide an effective, comprehensive and expert procurement services to support the business. The Procurement Officer will help develop and implement innovative approaches to supply arrangements that minimise costs, deliver savings and mitigate commercial risks. The role will be based in our offices in Didsbury, Manchester and some travel to regional offices/sites may be required. This position is a temporary role covering maternity leave and is expected to last approximately 9 months. The exact duration may be subject to change based on the needs of the company. The Role

  • Being the lead for the E-Proc COUPA ordering system – validate/place orders - de-ploy/manage the tool – manage catalogues– Support users.
  • Being the Category Specialist for Indirect packages across the business and develop contracts as well as catalogues offer.
  • Assist Project Buyers to manage & develop National and Regional Framework Agreements and lead Indirect category Framework Agreements to improve coverage and Commercial Reward.
  • Supply chain management, including structuring the supply chain, carrying out performance and relationship management to drive performance/cost benefits.
  • Develop the national and regional supply chain through an SRM system to suit the demand of projects.
  • Assist Head of Procurement for the management of the Dashboard and Reporting.
  • Support the group procurement functional goals and objectives.
  • Outsource, tender and negotiation - Assist the Project Buyers in preparing tenders with suppliers / subcontractors.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, new products and supplier developments to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the procurement function.
  • Support the group procurement goals and objectives.
  • Involve meeting on site and at Suppliers office across the UK.
The Person Essential Criteria
  • Good understanding of strategic procurement practices.
  • Good knowledge of sustainability and safety within procurement practices.
  • A strong team player who is customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively solve problems.
  • Attention to detail with good time management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Attention of Health and Safety matters.
Desirable Criteria Experience working in the building services/construction sector and or indirect categories management.
