Belfair Property Owners Association is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Court Sports to oversee all aspects of our court sports programs. This role includes managing tennis, pickleball, bocce, and shuffleboard activities within our Sports and Lifestyle Center. The Director will be responsible for program development, coaching, event coordination, and facility management, ensuring a top-tier experience for both club members and their guests.

Belfair's facilities feature a range of court sports amenities, including six Har-Tru surface tennis courts, seven pickleball courts, and two courts each for bocce ball and shuffleboard.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Management:

  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive courts sports program, including coaching, training, clinics, tournaments, and social events.
  • Develop programs that cater to players of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Continuously assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Coaching and Instruction:

  • Provide high-quality coaching and instruction to players, focusing on skill development, strategy, and sportsmanship.
  • Recruit, train, and manage coaching staff.
  • Conduct regular training sessions, clinics, and workshops for members and guests.

Facility Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the court sport facilities and other related infrastructure.
  • Work with club management to ensure that facilities meet safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and external vendors for repairs and upgrades.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and manage a vibrant calendar of events that includes a variety of activities for court sports, such as tournaments, clinics, social gatherings, and friendly competitions. Ensure the events are fun, engaging, and provide a welcoming environment for members and guests of all skill levels.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and programs.

Member Relations and Communication:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with club members and guests.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, feedback, and complaints related to tennis and racquet sports.
  • Communicate effectively with club management, staff, and members to ensure alignment and coordination.

Budget and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual court sports budget.
  • Monitor expenses and revenues, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Complete member billings as required.
  • Manage and approve payroll.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
  • USPTA or PTR accreditation required.
  • Proven experience in coaching and managing tennis and/or pickleball.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge of safety and risk management practices.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
