A large SEN School based in Newham are on the hunt for an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) for an ASAP start.
You will be tasked with supporting a wide variation of needs including Autism (ASD), PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), Speech and Language (SP&L) and more The students' needs vary in severity some will be verbal, some non-verbal. If you have any experience with children aged 16+ SEN (ASD, PMLD, SLD etc) we would love to hear from you This does not have to be direct school experience; any transferable skills will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
Support students with SEN on a day-to-day basis (ASD, PMLD, SLD, SP&L and more)
Primary & Secondary opportunities
Liaising with Class Teachers and the SENDCO regarding progress of children
Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children.
Delivering specialist interventions
Liaising with the school's therapists
ASAP Start - Long-Term - Full Time
90 - 110 per day
Located in the Borough of Greenwich
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience of supporting children (16+) with SEN - Autism, PMLD, SLD, SP&L - Ideal
Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus - Ideal
You MUST be resilient, patient, calm-natured, empathetic & adaptable
A hardworking and driven individual who will exceed all expectations of the role requirements
