Building high performing teams plays a huge part in this transformation, which is why we need a skilled DevOps Specialist for our Customer Servicing Application Portfolio Management value stream.

We are currently looking for a experienced DevOps Engineer to join the team who has minimum 3 years of experience.

This role can be based in either of the following offices, with 2 days per week required on site in an office of your choice:

Our ‘Customer Servicing’ domain drives the systems used by our front-line colleagues to support our members. Member Contact Platform: We have begun the first stage of our journey modernising our contact centre through the adoption of a AWS cloud native platform.
• We are driving an agenda to further increase ‘straight through processing’ alongside reducing the burden of manual handling undertaken by our colleagues.
• Giving our Members more choice on how they communicate with us by offering chatbots and virtual assistants as a way to start a contact.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the DevOps pipelines that underpin our Customer Servicing applications, ensuring a consistent approach using agreed tooling across our core platforms. You will be required to shape future DevOps solutions, seek out new opportunities for automation and minimise the technical debt.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at team at a time of real change, where you will be at the heart of driving the DevOps agenda, and able to make a real impact. The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience of ‘on-premise’ Windows estates, along with experience of driving modernisation agendas to adopt and exploit cloud native technology in a regulated environment.

You’ll have contracted hours, but we’re always happy to support flexible working wherever we can. That might mean working from home or different Nationwide offices or agreeing a working pattern to help you balance work and life. Joining the Customer Servicing Domain, you will work across our core platforms championing our use of DevOps and supporting the Engineers working in development teams.
You'll be responsible for the optimisation of our DevOps pipelines and tooling and work closely with lead engineers to create and deliver the right automation strategies for the future.
You will help remove blockers for the team, helping them to increase maturity in agile and DevOps approaches to improve flow and quality. In the regulated environment that we work within, you will be responsible for ensuring that all CTO guard rails are adhered to, enabling traceability and evidence for the direction taken.

Expert skills in DevOps processes, techniques, and modern toolsets
• Hands on experience in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
• VMs, Containers, Storage, Security Configuration
• Hands on experience using at least one modern programming language: C#/.NET, Python, etc. and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash
• Experience of automating the creation and maintenance of complex cloud infrastructure using Automation and Configuration Management tools such as Terraform
• The ability to understand complex problems, providing root cause analysis, and identifying options for resolution.

Microsoft or AWS Certified
• Knowledge of Financial services and Colleague facing solutions
• AWS Connect or MS Power Apps
