About the role

The role will require specific focus on Made to Order (special) enquiries for the business in the commercial and domestic waste water treatment plant, pumping stations and separators sectors. In addition, there will be close involvement with the internal sales team and production operatives to ensure MTO’s are brought through the business smoothly. The role will also include designing new and improving existing products within the Klargester & Kingspan Water offering.

The Project Engineer will have a key role within MTO process, also be continually reviewing and improving the product ranges to ensure Kingspan remains the number one for wastewater treatment and water re-use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design work using CAD (predominately SolidWorks and some AutoCAD) for all MTO Orders throughout the Water Business, including:

Domestic and Commercial Treatment Plant

Domestic and Commercial Septic, Settlement and Holding tanks

Pumping Stations – Sewage, Effluent. Grinder & Surface Water

RWH Systems – from standard domestic applications to commercial system design

  • Changes and Product Improvements to the above product ranges via the ECR/ECN process
  • Creating new product from design meetings with sales and process teams
  • Internal and external technical support and advise on design and installation of products
  • Generation of technical sales documents, training literature and production drawings for shop floor operatives
  • Creating reports and delivering presentations on the monthly MTO and project workload for the Water BU
  • Keeping abreast of new materials and tank construction methods.
  • Item Code and Bill of Material creation and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Post-graduate qualification in a Science, Technology, or Engineering discipline (desirable)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred with Auto CAD a useful addition)
  • Mechanical Design background (ideally with knowledge of GRP, drive components and pumps)
  • Previous experience within the water industry either sewage or pump station systems (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuit diagrams and or previous wiring and electrical site experience (desirable)
  • Awareness of European legislation for water treatment, movement and storage (desirable)

Abilities & Skills

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills at both a shop floor and senior management level
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • On site fitting, commissioning or maintenance of water systems or machinery (desirable).
