Our client is a FTSE250 group that is an international specialist in its field of manufacturing. The company is a major global supplier of R&D led materials, with leadership positions in many markets. The group helps customers create innovative new products and enhance the performance of existing products in a wide range of key industries.

Description

This is a key role in the Group Headquarters, with responsibilities covering the annual and monthly statutory and management processes, whilst managing a team of three qualified accountants.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, and with continual direct exposure to the Group CFO, the main accountabilities include leading the monthly consolidation of all global reporting entities along with review of the group financial reporting. The role is responsible for review of monthly and quarterly board reports, as well as the group consolidation and preparation of interim and annual statutory accounts & annual report. The Group Finance Manager will own all external financial reporting such as quarterly interim results and and the annual report, along with being a main contact for technical accounting and reporting queries from around the Group. Other duties include consolidation of the monthly group forecast, budget and 5-year plan, liaising with international regions and other departments. The role directly manages three Group Accountants, assisting with their professional growth and career development. Ad hoc duties might include a variety of project work to support the leadership team and other senior personnel across the group.

Skills

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • Professional accounting qualification gained with an international public practice firm
  • Post-qualification experience of group consolidations in a medium or large corporate
  • Previous experience managing a small team
  • Exceptional planning, organisation and communication skills with the ability to advise and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong cultural awareness, adaptability and confidence to operate across geographic regions
