Purpose of Position (Summary):

MSA Bristol are embarking on implementation of SAP ECC, this will join MSA Bristol with the MSA Safety WOM (World Operating Model) and standardize system usage across the Global Organisation.

This brings MSA Bristol the opportunity to not only join the wider organisation but also improve processes and drive efficiencies through MSA Bristol.

Supply Chain is an instrumental part of the organisation with responsibility over Purchasing, Production Planning, Material Management, Warehouse, Logistics and Sub-Contractor Planning, as such this is a key role to support the daily functions effectively transfer to SAP by redesigning our processes and using best in class Supply Chain strategies.

The candidate for this role must be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and awareness of SAP, including by not exclusively MM, PP, SD, WMS modules, the individual must have strong functional leadership skills and be able to support change management and ensure delivery to the project time-scales; creating the bridge between business capability today and those required to deliver our business goals in the SAP Environment. The candidate would be the link to the wider project team and translating the needs of Supply Chain driving successful deployment, ensuring project timings are achieved in line with the project.

To be successful in this role you will have a broad Supply Chain Knowledge in a Manufacturing environment. You will be comfortable thriving in a challenging a busy environment, you will have exceptional IT skills, pro-active attitude, communication, flexible working and the ability to build relationships is a must.


Responsibilities

Understanding of current business processes

  • Shadow Functional teams to understand current processes, develop process flows in-line with current process and consider compatibility with SAP and opportunities where SAP could improve and drive efficiency
  • Drive engagement with Functional teams to establish challenges and highlight ‘quick win’ opportunities from the transfer
  • Promote where SAP processes will drive functional improvements
  • Translate requirements into design recommendations and solutions
  • Work within wider Supply Chain Strategies and Operating Plans

Master Data Maintenance

  • Collate and review Master Data
  • Organize Master Data into a transferable manner
  • Ensure Master Data is accurate and complete
  • Agree and support readiness for master data cut-over
  • Ensure all pre-requisites are met

Implementation and Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understand and communicate complex dependencies and milestones
  • Identify risks and potential issues related to cutover activities
  • Agree and support mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Lead, support and guide Supply Chain functions through end user testing
  • Understand requirements of other Functional areas and connection with Supply Chain
  • Ensure maximization of SAP within Supply Chain
  • Leverage other MSA sites and usage of SAP with BPO’s (Business Process Owners)
  • Share, use and communicate expert knowledge in order to develop others and make business processes more effective
  • Develop and deliver user training plans that work around daily operational requirements

Go-Live / Cut-over

  • Integrate cut-over activities seamlessly
  • Planning of resource to ensure transfer of data between systems
  • Ensure minimal disruption
  • Monitoring of cut-over issues, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution
  • Ensure on-time cut-over

MSA Operating System Utilization

  • Apply the MSA Operating System to correctly identify root causes of problems and drive corrective action results.
  • Benchmarking with internal and external sites, understand and deploy best in class ways of working.
  • Propose and drive continuous improvement projects that lead to lead time improvement, inventory reduction/conversion and productivity improvement.

Qualifications

High Level Requirements of Position:

Experience (required):

  • Level I: 4+ years within Supply Chain Environment
  • Level II: 6+ years within Supply Chain Environment (inc Management), Experience managing projects, experience with SAP integrations

Experience (preferred):

Level I:

•Multi System use of SAP

•Experience in managing and analyzing network inventory strategies

•Production planning in a versatile manufacturing and distribution environment with a focus on low volume / high mix production and/or supply planning.

•Logistics Strategies and material movements

Level II:

•All above plus strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to translate complex data into high-level scenario plans plus proven success in leading cross-functional discussions and projects without direct supervision. Education (required): Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Logistics related fields

Education (preferred): Professional certifications, APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP or like accreditation
