Subject teacher (any subject) plus Culture and Ethos Lead:
You will be teaching any subject you specialise in plus be a cultural and ethos lead at a school that prides itself on preparing children for their lifelong journey ahead. The area this school serves has its own challenges, with many children from disadvantaged families and a high level of deprivation. Your students are coming to school for a safe space and have an abundance of pastoral care available to them and their families. Here, they are empowered and motivated, they feel like their voices are heard. They are even involved in the interview process of new staff, so be prepared for their questions

Academy leaders have made vast improvements to the curriculum in the past few years, and you will be clear on what you need to teach. In your lessons students embark on a journey covering content and developing skills through engaging and practical activities. You will be really making a difference to children that need it most, some having been through adverse trauma. • Be committed to high quality teaching, learning and improving outcomes for all students.
  • Have a strong and secure knowledge of the curriculum.
  • Be innovative, resilient and self-motivated to drive the departmental objectives forwards.
  • Be very organised. Time management is key; you will be expected to manage your own diary, be willing to plan new lessons to add to the bank of growing departmental resources including marking and providing bespoke feedback to all students.
  • Take ownership of the progression and outcomes of individual students and whole class outcomes.
Salary: Main page scale depending on experience

Plus an additional £3000 Recruitment and Retention payment over 3 years for the right candidate

To be successful in your application, you should;

• Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
• Have knowledge of teaching English
• Be able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
• Have high expectations of yourself in your career and the pupils you teach
