Purpose of job
Our aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.
The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.
The Product Manager works within Zest’s Marketing team, owning the vision for our products and services. They work throughout the business with key departments to define new solutions and to support bringing them to market. The role will involve working closely with the Zest leadership and IT teams.
Key Accountabilities
The role is responsible for the following:
- Own the vision for Zest’s products and services, working with key stakeholders to ensure strategic fit and engaging the engineering team to maintain development progress
- Develop the product strategy, manage the product roadmap and prioritise features/deliverables
- Help develop the commercial model for the new solution, to be reviewed by the CFO, CEO and the board
- Own the product lifecycle from development through manufacturing and production to delivery
- Own the decision-making process to determine whether solutions proceed through development and to market
- Identify and communicate user needs to the engineering and delivery teams through the creation of user stories
- Representing users and other stakeholders at internal meetings such as planning and review sessions
- Create and own the product collateral, containing the solution strategy, proposition messaging, commercial model, introduction plan and roadmap
- Ensure the product is developed to an appropriate level of quality taking into consideration expected lifetime, investment and timeframes
- Define and implement product goals and metrics, monitoring performance against outcome
- Manage, influence and negotiate stakeholder relationships and communicate progress and achievements, championing the product within the business
- Support the sales and wider marketing team with content for marketing campaigns and sales propositions
- Work directly with pilot customers to monitor the first deployments of new solutions
- Own the solution introduction program and ensure it keeps to schedule

Knowledge and Skills
- Previous experience working in similar role within a product/marketing team
- Previous experience working on products with both software and hardware components
- Track record of devising and implementing effective strategies for bringing products to market
- Previous experience working with and managing 3rd party suppliers and manufacturers
- Track record of working with and understanding relevant commercial models
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to produce meaningful and impactful reports and presentations that aid commercial decision making
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
