The role... We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial records and smooth operational processes. You will be responsible for bank postings and reconciliations, managing the client payment inbox, maintaining the purchase ledger, processing expenses, and providing ad hoc support to the wider Finance team. Key Responsibilities: Bank Transactions & Reconciliation: Record bank transactions in the ledger and reconcile with bank statements within agreed deadlines. Maintain high accuracy and identify opportunities for automation using tools such as Zone Reconcile. Client Payment Inbox: Manage the client payment email inbox, ensuring timely responses and accurate payment processing in line with financial control frameworks and service level agreements (SLAs). Expense Processing: Handle employee expense claims in accordance with the company's Expenses Policy. Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations as needed to support accurate financial reporting. Purchase Ledger Maintenance: Process supplier invoices, maintain the purchase ledger, and respond to supplier queries. Ad Hoc Support: Provide assistance to the wider Finance team as required. To be successful in the role you will need: Ability to handle and interpret numerical data accurately. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel. Understanding of fundamental accounting concepts including double-entry bookkeeping. Attention to detail to ensure a high level of accuracy when handling financial data. Eagerness to learn and adopt a continuous improvement mindset to improve efficiencies in processes. What You Can Expect From Us...
