Accounts Assistant

We are a science-based company employing 110 people. We are based in Eynsham and work throughout the UK and the world. Before applying, please check our website. Our dynamic accounts department requires an assistant for an 8 week period. We are looking for a pro-active and energetic person who can support our two accounts managers by preparing all purchase invoicing for input, authorisation, and payment. There are various tasks involved, and a variety of suppliers who Zetica deal with across a number of departments. We are looking for a person who knows how a company ‘flows’, with an aptitude for data input and an understanding of purchasing. We are looking for a person who is curious to understand the technical side of things, and who has an interest in the human side of things, someone who can connect the dots between the two. The work can be highly administrative, yet interesting as in any accounts department and it is for that reason you require the ability to focus and quickly work out which project the invoice is to be booked to, and why a particular supplier might have a different requirement than another. We are looking to fill this position for a short-term period of 2 months. A quick learner is vital for this position. To apply you will need to:
- Have an understanding of what our business does.
- Have excellent computer skills, namely Excel, Word, and Outlook plus Explorer. We will test you during interviews.
- You will need training on the company accounts system so prior knowledge of other main stream systems is a must.
- Processing purchase invoices
- General ledger coding of invoices
- Invoice authorisation/approvals, liaising with budget holders
- Managing supplier queries
- Maintaining our supplier records
- Preparing payment runs
