Procurement Project Lead
Contechs are recruiting on behalf of their client who are known for manufacturing luxury hand-crafted motorcycles. They are looking for Procurement Project Lead to join their expanding team on a Contract basis. Our Client is seeking a Procurement Project Lead to join a growing Procurement team in a fast paced, agile Automotive engineering environment.
The successful candidate will support benchmarking and supplier nomination activity for a new project, key to the re-launch of motorbikes back into the market.
This includes close collaboration with Engineering teams, Production and Quality.
As NPI Project Buyer, you will need to influence and inform key stakeholders within the business as well as the supply chain.
Reviewing specification requirements for new products with Concept, Engineering and Project Management.
Liaising with the Category buying teams to understand prospective supply base against each requirement
Working collaboratively with department heads for all requirements to ensure production, warranty and aftersales work can be achieved within project requirements and to customer expectations
Identifying and prioritising issues, communicating to the NPD and management team.
Ensuring suppliers nominated and product developed to impeccable quality standards
Manage overall project timelines to ensure that product is delivered to market in accordance with business requirements and customer expectations
Supporting Category buying teams with managing suppliers where required
Supporting the implementation of new Procurement systems and processes around NPI
Work on ad-hoc procurement projects as the company requires
Excellent communication and commercial skills
~ Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
~ Highly flexible individual who can adjust to a very agile environment
~· Desirable, experience of working in a purchasing role in an engineering and automotive environment
Experience of delivering NPI projects from a manufacturing perspective from concept to launch, including demonstratable experience of Early Supplier Engagement
Demonstrable experience of establishing cost (ownership) upfront during project development
Microsoft Office suite proficient, specifically MS Excel
Excellent opportunity with immediate starts available
