Team Effectiveness Specialist

This Organisation Development role will specialise in team effectiveness ensuring the Health Board can advance with cultural progression. The role will support the design and implement of a team effectiveness programme. This programme will target development that enhances relationships, builds safety, improves decision making and creates more cohesive teams that maximise team and organisational impacts and outcomes. Utilising many of the cultural elements that the organisation has developed, the role will design, facilitate, and manage bespoke OD interventions that measure and reflect on the dynamics of team effectiveness.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest
Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire
48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales Job description Job responsibilities The Culture and Workforce Experience Team work collaboratively within the WOD Directorate to support the maintenance and progression of organisational culture. This requires a number of different agendas to be analysed, developed, implemented and assessed, through the lens of staff experience. The team have a number of portfolios but look to support cultural change at micro, meso and macro levels.

- Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent level of experience.
- Professional qualification in healthcare or general management.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and selfimprovement.
- Understanding of and a strong commitment to, the values and goals of HDdUHB and in putting people at the heart of what we do.
- Organisational development knowledge, including diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Benchmarking and measuring organisational climate and culture
- Knowledge of communications and engagement techniques, including use of social media.
- Knowledge of project management.
- Coaching qualification at level 5 or willing to work towards.
- Mediation qualification or willing to work towards.
- Prince 2 qualification or equivalent.
- Good understanding of an NHS environment and roles and responsibilities within it
- Proven track record as a specialist OD practitioner.
- Extensive experience of facilitating team development where conflict and barriers exist.
- Evidence of using OD consultancy model to design OD interventions.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and implementing complex change working with challenging individuals and achieving a successful outcome.
- Experience of working within organisational boundaries and with senior managers and leaders, using persuasive, motivational, negotiating and training to achieve common goals.
- Experience of developing and following policies and protocols for own work area.
- Experience of the use of electronic systems / databases.
- Experience of financial management and budgetary control skills.
- Understanding of various Team Effectiveness models.
- Understanding of conflict resolution processes.
- Trained in Belbin and MBTI.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively in writing, face to face and over the telephone with a wide-ranging audience including clinicians, technicians, managers and administrators.
- Able to demonstrate situations where effective leadership and management skills have been used.
- Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others Customer care focus and confidence in dealing with a range of people of all professions.
- Flexible approach to needs of the service able to respond to departmental changes and priorities.
- Excellent motivation, negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise work, to meet changing deadlines.
- Ability to work flexibly and travel between sites in a timely manner
