Civil Engineer

Head of engineering

There are 4 civil engineers

5 hours per week Mon-Fri - Office Based.

There are/is no vehicle/car allowance provided however mileage will be paid.

Candidates will also be considered for an Assistant, Graduate, or Apprentice Engineer grade, if appropriate.

The role will be based in Shrewsbury but will require travel throughout the country - where and when will be dependent on the needs.

Ideally candidates will be graduates with 12-18 months experience in a similar role.

Civil Engineer Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer. Candidates will also be considered for an Assistant, Graduate, or Apprentice Engineer grade, if appropriate. The role will be based in Shrewsbury but will require travel throughout the country.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team and lead the engineering input on an exciting and varied portfolio of infrastructure schemes in the development sector. You will be involved in the assessment and design of site levels, highways, sewers, SuDS and flood risk management infrastructure, from feasibility through to the construction phase.

Civil Engineering Degree and professional qualifications or working towards professional qualifications.

* Vehicle and UK driving licence to travel countrywide.

Civil Engineer Person Specification:

The position is office-based with administrative support and you will be required to manage client relationships, provide fee quotes, arrange appointments, and to manage your work to meet deadlines under your own initiative. You will be managed within a team of engineers, land surveyors, and building surveyors.

The Civil Engineer candidate will hold a minimum of an HNC/HND or degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, relevant professional qualifications are desirable.

Outline and detail drainage designs (SuDS and foul water) for various types and scales of developments.

* Modelling of drainage networks using either Flow or Micro-Drainage.

* Road and junction design, including detailed design for construction.

* Highways England, EA, local councils, utility companies).

* Interpretation of geo-technical reports for drainage designs.

* AutoCAD applications, Civil3D and/or Causeway PDS.

* Flood Risk Assessments.

* A full UK driving licence is required.
