About us: Established in 1834, Hatfields Restoration is a Furniture Restoration workshop in South London. Although we pride ourselves in traditional techniques, our diverse approach brings in a variety of period and contemporary projects from antique dealers, interior designers, private clients and institutions.
Working in office with our foreman and consultant, you will assist in the smooth and efficient running of this busy workshop. You will assist the Workshop Manager in project coordination, following telephone and email client enquiries throughout each project, providing estimates, invoices and arranging transport. You will also work closely with our wider accounts team, processing the company’s finances through QuickBooks and arranging payment. Following the current filing system, you will ensure all project records are kept confidential and the correct paperwork completed to specific deadlines for larger, public-funded projects.
Providing professional and reassuring client communication for bespoke projects, both in emails and over the phone. Able to handle data with discretion and work in a solution-driven manner for the benefit of client satisfaction.
Financial Processing: Previous experience with QuickBooks is essential. Job role involves generating and sending invoices to clients, processing supplier invoices for payment, logging timesheets, depositing cheques and monitoring reports.
Computer Literacy: Daily use of Outlook, Word, Excel and in-house software.
Communication: Able to keep open lines of dialogue not only with clients but also with workshop team, office colleagues, accountant, subcontractors, carriers, regular visitors and building services.
Project Coordination: Keen awareness of diary, deliveries, project timelines, financial processing and the progression of pieces within the workshop. Able to balance many projects consecutively through effective note taking and communication. Assisting in the management and co-ordination of large restoration projects.
Monitoring Building: Maintain the health & safety, fire plan and security of workshop. Ensure the overall appearance of the reception area is tidy and presentable.
Thorough and detail conscious approach to processing records of projects, finances and communications both virtually and manually.
Experience and/or knowledge of antiques, restoration, public sector projects and running a workshop are advantageous but not essential.
Strong technological literacy and competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages and QuickBooks
