Position Title: Sales Associate Salary: £28,000 - £32,000+ Bonus Location: Cambridgeshire (office-based) Your New Employer You'll be joining a fast-growing renewable energy company that supplies the products needed to build complete systems, including solar PV, battery storage, heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers. The business works mainly with installation companies and trade customers, handling a high volume of orders each year. Alongside an efficient operation, they have developed their own online design and ordering tools, supported by an in-house software team that is constantly improving them. The company has a strong environmental ethos, a genuine passion for accelerating the uptake of renewables, and a culture built on openness, honesty and doing the right thing by customers and colleagues. Your New Role As a Sales Associate, you will support the Sales teams and act as a key point of contact for customers. Your day will involve a blend of outbound calls to existing and prospective customers, responding to phone and email enquiries, and managing both reactive and proactive email communication. You will process online orders, take customer payments, and respond to questions about product availability, stock levels and basic system design. A significant part of the role will be liaising with the operations and logistics teams to handle enquiries about deliveries, resolve issues efficiently and keep customers fully updated. It is a busy, varied position that would suit someone who enjoys speaking to people, building relationships and keeping on top of multiple tasks. This is the entry-level sales role, with a clear progression route into a Sales Executive position as you grow your product knowledge and begin to manage your own accounts. Your Background You are looking for a role where you can make a visible difference rather than being lost in a large organisation. You enjoy working with customers, staying organised and solving problems with a calm, professional approach. You do not need to come from the renewable energy sector, but you should have at least one year's experience in a product-focused business where you have dealt with regular trade or business customers, handled orders and stock-related queries, and worked in a fast-paced environment. A genuine interest in sustainability and renewable energy is important, as is the ability to pick up technical information quickly and explain it clearly to others. You are comfortable on the phone, enjoy building rapport, pay close attention to detail, and can balance being a supportive team player with using your own initiative during busy periods. In Return You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly team where you can see the results of your work from day one. The atmosphere is informal but hard-working, with a real buzz when things get busy. You will receive full training and ongoing support to get up to speed quickly, and because the sector moves fast, there will always be new products, customers and technologies to learn about, as well as evolving internal tools and systems. In addition to a salary of £28,000–£32000 depending on experience, you will have the opportunity to bonuses and, over the longer term, share in the company's profits. There is a clear pathway to progress into a Sales Executive role and beyond for someone who performs well and wants to build a long-term career in renewable energy.
