Cook Volunteer

Location: Maidstone

Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week

You will play an important part in the lives of the people we support by helping encourage them to create nutritious and tasty food. You will be helping the people we support learn new cooking skills while supporting them to cook tasty and flavoursome meals. It would be really good if you could also help them make meals from different parts of the world, giving it a bit of zing

T hese cooking sessions will take place from Monday to Friday at our service in Maidstone.

Skills required

  • To be passionate about food and confident using culinary equipment
  • A food hygiene qualification would be beneficial, but can provide training if required
  • To be able to communicate well, be friendly and kind
  • To be punctual and reliable
  • To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures

To ensure the safety of the people we support, we will require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role.
