The Trauma services have an exciting opportunity for an advanced clinical practitioner to support the trauma wards at the JR site.

Advanced clinical practice is delivered by experienced, registered health care practitioners and is characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This is underpinned by Master's level education encompassing four pillars of advanced clinical practice: leadership and management, education and research with demonstrable core capabilities and speciality specific clinical competence. This role will support the junior team of nurses and doctors within the services enhancing patient experience and staff experience. we are excited to welcome this role into the service and are looking for someone with Trauma experience and knowledge to help deliver this role.

Main duties of the job


  • Be involved in admitting, clerking, and reviewing patients following admission, arrange for imaging required pre-operatively and assist in the planning for surgery. This includes clerking patients in outpatients clinic and ED as appropriate.
  • Provide the nurse in charge with opportunities to consult a senior clinician with reference to clinical decision-making.
  • Develop and undertake and deliver service development and quality improvement initiatives as agreed with service leads.
