We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our department provide a service to a variety of inpatient and outpatient areas including respiratory, diabetes, surgical and care of the elderly, paediatrics and oncology depending on the band 5 rotation. You should be a good team worker and be able to use your initiative. This post is suitable for newly qualified Dietitians or Band 5 Dietitians looking for further experience.


The post holder will work closely with our Senior Dietitians who will help train and support you along with providing opportunities of experiencing other areas of dietetics. New ways of working and evaluating our practice through audit are strongly encouraged in our team and hospital trust. Developing resources and carrying out audits will be encouraged to maintain our high profile within the hospital. We provide student training and will be expecting the post holder to contribute.

The department is actively involved in the teaching and training of nursing and medical staff and there would be an opportunity to develop your skills in this area.


University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is made up of 3 Hospitals. The post holder is applying for a rotational post which can be based at either the Royal Bournemouth Hospital or Poole site. This post offers excellent opportunities for professional and personal development. The department is committed to CPD and we offer a wide range of in-house training. In addition we are closely connected with our colleagues across Dorset and run a Dorset wide education and networking event twice yearly.


We would welcome applications from current Dietetic students who are due to finish their training and will be eligible for HCPC registration in 2023.
UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.


This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics Or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Clinical Supervisory skills training


Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
Experience of training Dietetic students.
Previous clinical experience at band 5 level

Data collation and analysis skills

Knowledge of the dietetic and medical management of patients who require nutrition support
Management of patients with nutrition support

Knowledge of Dietetics within NHS


Ability to complete allocated projects and meet deadlines
