Business Development Manager- Oil & Gas (subsea), UK/Aberdeen based

Our client is a fast growing Oil & Gas subsea solutions service provider with Global capability.

As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, pursuing and securing new business opportunities within the subsea market. You will also play a key role in maintaining and expanding relationships with the company's existing client portfolio.

Your ultimate goal is to drive business project revenue growth and contribute to the overall success of the company. This Business Development role is a crucial part of the company's growth plan for 2024 (and beyond) and focuses on capturing opportunities in a specialized and highly competitive subsea capital equipment market. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, business acumen, tenacity and relationship-building skills in order to succeed.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on the subsea industry, including market trends, competitor analysis, and emerging opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and generate potential leads and business opportunities by networking, cold outreach, attending industry events (GLOBALY), and leveraging online resources.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients, addressing their specific subsea needs and highlighting the company's capabilities and advantages.
  • Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with clients to close deals, taking into account pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams and other departments to ensure that solutions align with client requirements.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales and business development reports, including pipelines, revenue forecasts, and market analysis.
  • Contract Management: Assist in the development and management of contracts, ensuring compliance and adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to subsea operations.
  • Travel: Travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit project sites.

In order to apply you must be able to evidence the following:

  • 4 years plus relevant experience in new business development or a related commercial field preferably within Subsea Oil&Gas or renewable energy markets.
  • Direct experience of either: subsea ROV/capital equipment rental services, IMR (Inspection, maintenance or repair solutions) or of the renewables sector - preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills - essential
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships - essential
  • A results-oriented mindset and a drive to meet and exceed sales targets - essential
  • Familiarity with project management and contract management is a plus - essential
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant business development tools - essential
  • Willingness to travel as required - essential
