Bannister Farm supports adults with a primary diagnosis of autism and learning disabilities. Who may require support with some mental health requirements. Improving life skills and independence will be an area of focus and communication of such activities will be discussed with the speech and language therapist and occupational therapist. In instances of where this is not always apparent of difficult to ascertain, their key-worker would be asked to give their opinion based on their knowledge of the person’s body language, behaviours and vocalisations as well as working alongside family and others who know the people well to ensure their wishes are known.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. There is the main kitchen/ dining area, which all the main house residents share. Annex 1 is a small one bed flat with en-suite facilities and its own kitchen/ lounge.
Annex 2 is a larger flat it consists of lounge an ADL kitchen to prepare meals and carry out independent living tasks. The main house has a small courtyard directly off the kitchen and dining area.
