To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:
- have Mandarin to native level
- possess partial qualifications in ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- have experience in accounting
- are willing to work in the office 5 days a week

What You'll be Doing:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for the UK branch of the shipping company.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax-related documents in compliance with UK regulations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets, providing financial insights and recommendations
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including UK GAAP and IFRS
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial audits and liaise with auditors as required
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Provide financial guidance and support to management, assisting in decision-making processes
The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry or in Chinese enterprises.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting regulations, including UK GAAP and IFRS
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
