Job Description

What will you be doing?

  1. Lead and execute Manufacturing transformation projects in alignment with SMART Factory, Industry 4.0, and Industry 5.0 principles.
  2. Collaborate closely with the customer's teams to assess current manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategic plans for implementation.
  3. Drive the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT, automation, data analytics, and AI/ML to optimize production workflows and enhance operational performance.
  4. Design and implement innovative solutions to streamline manufacturing operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  5. Conduct thorough analyses of manufacturing data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
  6. Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on best practices for SMART Factory implementation and manufacturing process improvement.
  7. Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on new technologies, processes, and methodologies related to Manufacturing transformation.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and IT to ensure seamless integration of SMART Factory initiatives with existing systems and processes.
  9. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Manufacturing transformation, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to address evolving business needs.
  10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols throughout the Manufacturing transformation process.

Qualifications

Experience, skills, and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing process improvement, preferably within the context of SMART Factory initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of SMART Factory concepts, Industry 4.0, and Industry 5.0 technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies for process optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Edinburgh, UK, five days a week.
