Role Description:

The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to support the efficient production of products through the factory. The role will require the candidate to develop & improve existing processes, best practices, procedures, and BOMs. You will be responsible for ensuring that work meets established internal quality and health & safety standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, coordinate, and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture major sub-components and final assembly of machines.
  2. Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality assurance departments to establish/implement containment and root cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
  3. Implement best practice standard work on the shop floor to improve safety and quality and maximize efficiency.
  4. Create and review BOMs and highlight any discrepancies with the BOM team.
  5. Provide production support to all areas within the business within the defined site.
  6. New product introduction, design for manufacture reviews, establishing processes, production launch.
  7. Coordinate and lead time studies and production layouts in conjunction with the production teams.
  8. Develop and review Lean Manufacturing where required across their assigned site.
  9. Support implementations of ECO/ECN into the business and record and document progress.
  10. Analyze issues that arise from within Operations and propose improvements where required and submit ECRs.
  11. With the support of production staff and design engineers, create and manage Standard Operating Procedures for product builds.
  12. Any other projects as assigned by the Technical Manager.
  13. Always maintain a high standard of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with current and future health and safety laws, processes, and procedures.
  14. Other duties associated with the successful development of the department and organization.
Qualifications & Required Experience:

Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent field. – Minimum of 3 Years' Experience - Strong skills in problem-solving, process implementation, and communication. - Knowledge of CREO/SolidWorks, Microsoft applications, BOM & SOP creation. - Previous experience of Adobe InDesign, Hydraulic and electrical systems advantageous. Candidates should reside within a daily commutable distance of Omagh, BT78 5EJ, to ensure ease of travel to and from our offices.
