About the Role: We’re currently looking for a Process Technician to join our Solar Development team. Our Process Technician’s play a key role in operating and maintaining a range of equipment including roll to roll printing machines and laminators within our pilot plant, as well as supporting our scientists with screening and other testing. The role will form an essential part of our scale up and continuous improvement activities as we look to commercialise our products. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating and maintaining our roll-to-roll printing and laminating equipment in line with standard operating procedures to deliver high quality solar films. To do this effectively you will need to ensure your equipment is properly calibrated.
- Operating printing equipment as part of our product fabrication, and testing the coating quality.
- Ensuring maximum utilisation of our equipment through preventive, planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with third party experts where needed.
- To ensure you work safely, following Health & Safety protocols, ensuring equipment is safe and if there are concerns, be proactive in seeking solutions.
- Ensure all equipment is safe, properly calibrated, and appropriate for use.
- Inventory management and record keeping.
- Ideally, you’ll have worked in a lab or a production environment with roll-to- roll printing or lamination equipment. This will have given you the opportunity to get familiar with precision instruments, tools, and machinery, and preferably gained some experience in handling chemicals.
- You'll understand the importance of attention to detail and be able to work at pace while maintaining accurate records.
- You'll be a team player, who can adapt to the changing priorities that working in a pilot plant brings with it.
- You will have achieved NVQ level 3 / A-levels in science subjects or engineering, however, equivalent work experience is great too.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Basic Salary: £24,000 to £31,000 dependant on relevant experience (plus shift premium of 12.5% for a 2 shift pattern of earlies and lates)
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with the opportunity to purchase more.
