A Vocational Counselor in the Supported Employment Program will provide an array of employment services to individuals with disabilities including mental health, learning disabilities, chemical dependency, deaf and hard of hearing. Provide support with all aspects of the job search including networking to establish employer connections in order to help individuals obtain competitive jobs. Provide job coaching at various employment sites in the community. Conduct ongoing visits at work sites to help individuals maintain stability in employment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, service plans, and records. Develop good working relationships with Employers, funders and other service providers.

Education: HS diploma required. Some education, training, or experience in Human Services or Customer Service positions preferred.

Experience: Experience, which demonstrates the ability and knowledge for successful performance will be considered. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be well organized and be able to work with limited supervision. Must be computer literate.

Other: Must have a current valid NYS driver’s license that meets agency’s clean driving record policy. Must have ability to work a flexible schedule and have reliable transportation and vehicle to perform job duties.
