We are looking for a Specialist Engineer - Electrical to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office. What will you be doing?

  • Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) with responsibility for execution and co-ordination of technical procurement activities for assigned equipment packages.
  • Preparing requisitions and specifications for procurement of HV and LV electrical packages and electrical equipment including clarifications, negotiations and change control.
  • Review and approve supplier documentation and follow up delivery of equipment such as HV switchgear assemblies and transformers, 690/400V distributions boards, UPS systems, transformers, variable speed drives etc.
  • Prepare documentation for onshore and offshore installation
  • Estimate cost and weight in a multi discipline environment
  • Participate in onshore/offshore survey and equipment FATs
  • Prepare engineering concepts and develop and execute detail design
  • Carry out manual and computer analysis
  • Prepare CTR estimates for electrical scopes
  • Prepare and co-ordinate discipline related scopes of work, specifications, reports, calculations and documentation
  • Carry out single and inter-discipline checks and reviews
  • Review and check subordinate engineers work
  • Carry out onshore / offshore survey and answer site queries
  • Coordinate, develop and manage electrical system design and procurement
  • Assist in the preparation of CTR's and man-hour estimates via the Aker Integrated Management System (AKIMS) where applicable.
  • Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
We think you should have:
  • Knowledge of power system analysis software preferred but not essential
  • University electrical engineering degree or relevant education with experience in EPCI projects from the brownfield energy sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards preferred but not essential
  • A strong desire to realise a monumental reduction in CO2 emissions throughout the industry
  • Committed to playing a part in solving the global energy challenges for future generations.
