Are you a talented freelance copywriter seeking a new opportunity? We have a great interim role as a website copywriter working for a Chartered Institute in the heart of the City of London. The ideal candidate is a creative team player, talented wordsmith, and grammar sleuth. You will be responsible for developing marketing and communications content that will separate our client from the crowd.

Purpose of the Role:

As a key member of the website redevelopment project, you will be tasked with transforming and optimizing all existing website copy to align with the new design templates and content structures in our Umbraco CMS. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the copy is not only SEO-compliant but also resonates with the target B2B audience, utilizing a plain English style that is both engaging and easy to understand.

Key Responsibilities:

- Content Transformation: Rewrite and adapt legacy website content to fit new templates and layouts, ensuring all text is optimized for SEO, readability, and user engagement.

- Collaboration and Validation: Coordinate with stakeholders across the company to verify the accuracy and relevance of website content. Maintain meticulous records of approvals and feedback.

- Document Rebranding: Update existing PDF documents to reflect new branding guidelines, utilizing design tools as needed to ensure visual consistency across all downloadable content.

- Image Management: Select and optimize images for web use, ensuring proper tagging and alignment with content themes.

- Content Management System Utilization: Efficiently manage content updates within the Umbraco CMS, keeping detailed logs of content progress and changes.

- User Experience Enhancement: Apply your UX knowledge to improve site navigation and content layout, enhancing overall user engagement and satisfaction.

- Project Support: Actively participate in the website project team to meet delivery milestones and contribute to the project's overall success.

Person Specification:

Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.

- At least 4 years of experience in website copywriting, with a strong portfolio of written content.

- Proficiency in using CMS platforms, preferably Umbraco.

- Demonstrated ability to select and optimize imagery for digital content.

- Proven experience in implementing effective SEO strategies through content tagging and keyword optimization.

- Experience in collaborative environments and stakeholder engagement.
