In this role as a Lead Data Engineer you will work within the Data Analytics & Insight engineering team. The key focus of this team is to produce data pipelines and strategic assets to support business insights, analytical use cases and regulatory compliance, in line with the Society’s data strategy.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at our London, Swindon or Northampton office. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here .
You'll join a multi skilled engineering team working on a varied set of data domains in the society. You'll be reporting to the Head of Data Engineer, leading a team of engineers and will collaborate with testers, data domain experts and product owners. Day-to-day you’ll be leading a team working on solutions for data ingestion, data modelling, data processing, using a range of best in bread technologies.
This role will offer lots of exciting opportunities to continue developing in data engineering, DevOps and cloud technologies.
You will have accountability and responsibility for the design, development, and implementation of solutions, and will help the team deliver against our data strategy. Excellent experience of working on big data platforms
Working knowledge and experience of key DevOps concepts, tools and languages
Experience of working in an agile delivery model
Experience of working with highly regulated and sensitive data
SQL Server/Oracle
Amazon Web Service (AWS)
